Blog Post #10 Assignment - Product Advertisement

The next type of essay we are going to work on in class is called the Persuasive Essay.  The definition of persuasion is “the act of making someone decide to do something or believe something by giving them reasons why they should do it or believe it.”  For this blog assignment, I want you to advertise a product as if it is your job to sell the product.  First, choose a product to “sell” and then persuade us to buy the product.  Why should we buy your product?    Give us reasons why the product is AMAZING and better than other products.  Also give us reasons why we NEED the product you are selling (no matter how stupid and useless it actually may be).  Feel free to include a picture of the product you are advertising.

Blog Post #6 Assignment

One of the greatest challenges of writing a memorable personal story is to make the reader feel.  If you can connect with readers on an emotional level, you will have them hooked and they will enjoy and appreciate your writing even more.  But in order to convey your emotions to others through writing, you must first be in touch with your own thoughts and feelings.  For this blog assignment, think about a time you have had very strong emotions about something.  Here is a list of some basic emotions: Sadness, Joy, Anger, Love, Embarrassment, Fear, Disgust, and Anticipation.  Choose a time you felt one of these emotions, and tell us about how you felt and why you felt that way.

Blog Post #4 Assignment

In a paragraph, tell us about a place you have visited.  This place can be in Korea or abroad.  This place could be an entire city, a famous landmark, a small unknown street, someone's apartment, or any other place you would like to write about.  When describing this place, try to give as many details as you can to help us imagine what it would be like if we were at the place with you.  Think about your senses while you write.  Write about what you saw, smelled, heard, tasted, felt, and/or thought while you were at this place.  What did the scenery look like?  How was the weather?  What kind of people were at this place with you?  How did this place make you feel?  Write like you are painting a picture with words. Also, tell us about anything you did or anything that happened to you at this place.  You can also include a picture of this place if you have one.
