Blog Post #13 Assignment - MLA Citation

Put a direct quotation from a book or a website in your blog.  You could provide a quote from a poem, an excerpt from a story, or a favorite saying  Use quotation marks and be sure to properly use MLA In-Text Citation.  Also, cite your source as if it was in an MLA Works Cited section.

Blog Post #12 Assignment - For the Sake of Argument Part II

Look at you last blog post (Blog #11).  For this blog, I want you to take the other side of the argument.  Disagree with your previous opinion and persuade us to agree with the opposite of what you previously argued in Blog #11.  Why is the other opinion about the topic correct?  Why are your ideas in Blog #11 incorrect or only partially correct?

Blog Post #11 Assignment - For the Sake of Argument

Do you have any strong opinions about anything?  Is there anything that you often disagree with people about?  Write about a topic that you feel strongly about.  Write about your opinion on the topic and persuade us to agree with your opinion.  Why are your ideas about the topic correct?  Why are other people’s ideas incorrect or only partially correct?

Blog Post #10 Assignment - Product Advertisement

The next type of essay we are going to work on in class is called the Persuasive Essay.  The definition of persuasion is “the act of making someone decide to do something or believe something by giving them reasons why they should do it or believe it.”  For this blog assignment, I want you to advertise a product as if it is your job to sell the product.  First, choose a product to “sell” and then persuade us to buy the product.  Why should we buy your product?    Give us reasons why the product is AMAZING and better than other products.  Also give us reasons why we NEED the product you are selling (no matter how stupid and useless it actually may be).  Feel free to include a picture of the product you are advertising.
